The Trials, Victories & Adventures of Los PaulOS

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. ~ 1 John 4:18

Revelations Over Pies & Pastries

22 July
Was just talking to Julia online for the past few days... Yeah... Julia my director who helped me through 3 Mirrors ( A play which I participated in last year as the role of "PAPA" ).. She's such a wonderful sister who's been such an encouragement to me. She was just sharing with me a couple of days ago about her venture into making Pies and Pastries as a side business.

*You can also contact her if you're interested in ordering pies.. please contact me for more info.. I don't take any commission *

So as we were talking this morning about her pies and pastries. She shared about how much her cell members enjoyed her pastries and quiche last nite. She also said that it gave her much satisfaction to see her cell members enjoy eating it. I was also able to share her sentiments about cooking meals for my housemates and my friends whenever there is an opportunity. I draw much satisfaction to see them enjoy the meal. To see the smiles on their faces and the body language that indicates satisfaction.

BLAM! A revelation hit me right smack in the face. Of course we know that the WORD of GOD is food for our spirit.
How much do we actually starve our spirit by not reading the Word of God? By not memorising Scripture Memory Verses?

This is the revelation... God has prepared a feast for our spirit through His Word. The Bible. It's there for the taking. And as we continued to share, we realised that when we have read His Word, it shows if we have read His Word. It shows in our response to circumstances and situations. It shows in how we speak to people ; our colleagues, oikoses, our family and our friends. It shows whether we've enjoyed the "meal" for our spirit.
And what's most amazing is, God will be pleased and satisfied to see us enjoying the "meal" He has already prepared it for us so long ago. It's our task, responsibility our charge to feed our spirit with the Word that we may be well nourished to carry out greater exploits for the Lord. We need to steward our time to feed ourselves. There are many verses that can be shared in response to this. but let me share just a few

Matt 4:4 (cf Deut 8:3) - Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matt 15:18-20 - 18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "

Therefore plant ye in thine hearts the Word Of God - PaulOS

Luke 6:45 - The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

I guess that's all for now .. better get back to work.. Maybe I can write more at the end of the day.

A Summary Of The Past Few Months

May 18
I turned 30... i didn't manage to write that in as you may see that age doesn't really matter to me. But it does indicate that my "runway" to impact ppl for the Lord has become shorter. So there is in some way an urgency to be more focussed and purposeful in living. Was a great time spending time with my MAG. Can't really remember what we talked about, but it was the first day for my neighbour Joseph Siew in the MAG. He's been a blessing since he's been in the MAG for the past 2 months.
During the MAG gathering, some of my friends from Church.. surprised me. They worked COVERTLY with my MAG Leader to prepare a surprise birthday party. Was very overwhelmed. Especially with the gift that they gave me. It was a cash gift to enable me to go for my Cambodia mission trip. Man!! when God's good there's so many stories to tell you just don't know where to start!... better get back to work. God Bless Thee!

June 4-6
Attended Church Camp at Damai Laut. Will elaborate on that in another log.. In short one of the nicest Church Camps I've attended. Thank God for Steven who blessed me with 50% of the church camp fees. Was short of cash because I was preparing to go for a Cambodia Mission Trip. I did however go there to play golf with my MAG leader , Wan Teeand another cell leader, Chris Mak. Was a good time of golf getting to know Chris Mak better. We prayed before teeing off. It's a practice that I believe is good where we believe that in everything God has created for us to enjoy there is a spiritual aspect to it. Golf has taught me over the years to control my temper and to realise that God's in control. Whilst God can bend the rules of nature to help me play a good game... but He won't. He allows me to go through my frustrations and joys of the game. To teach me to be patient, know my abilities and talents and to know that HE is in control.

June 25 - July 1
Went to Cambodia for a week on a mission trip. Still have stories to tell from that.. wow so much to write. But the thing I gained most is the boldness to share God's Good News to all according to the opportunities that He presents me with. Will try to compile something onto VCD for you all to view.

July 20 - Summing it all up till now...
A summing up of the year till today. It's definitely been a year of BREAKTHROUGH! God's always been good, it's just only now my paradigm's shifting to see it clearer each time. Breakthroughs I've wanted to see this year
1. Actually going for a Mission Trip
2. Healing of my sickness
3. Deepening relationship with God through His Word
4. Growth in leading the cell.
So far have seen #1 and #2 come true.. and I believe God is preparing me for greater stuff so that I can live my life more purposefully. Till the next time I blog. Hopefully tomorrow, BE EXTREMELY BLESSED!!!
