Revelations Over Pies & Pastries
22 July
Was just talking to Julia online for the past few days... Yeah... Julia my director who helped me through 3 Mirrors ( A play which I participated in last year as the role of "PAPA" ).. She's such a wonderful sister who's been such an encouragement to me. She was just sharing with me a couple of days ago about her venture into making Pies and Pastries as a side business.
*You can also contact her if you're interested in ordering pies.. please contact me for more info.. I don't take any commission *
So as we were talking this morning about her pies and pastries. She shared about how much her cell members enjoyed her pastries and quiche last nite. She also said that it gave her much satisfaction to see her cell members enjoy eating it. I was also able to share her sentiments about cooking meals for my housemates and my friends whenever there is an opportunity. I draw much satisfaction to see them enjoy the meal. To see the smiles on their faces and the body language that indicates satisfaction.
BLAM! A revelation hit me right smack in the face. Of course we know that the WORD of GOD is food for our spirit.
How much do we actually starve our spirit by not reading the Word of God? By not memorising Scripture Memory Verses?
This is the revelation... God has prepared a feast for our spirit through His Word. The Bible. It's there for the taking. And as we continued to share, we realised that when we have read His Word, it shows if we have read His Word. It shows in our response to circumstances and situations. It shows in how we speak to people ; our colleagues, oikoses, our family and our friends. It shows whether we've enjoyed the "meal" for our spirit.
And what's most amazing is, God will be pleased and satisfied to see us enjoying the "meal" He has already prepared it for us so long ago. It's our task, responsibility our charge to feed our spirit with the Word that we may be well nourished to carry out greater exploits for the Lord. We need to steward our time to feed ourselves. There are many verses that can be shared in response to this. but let me share just a few
Matt 4:4 (cf Deut 8:3) - Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matt 15:18-20 - 18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "
Therefore plant ye in thine hearts the Word Of God - PaulOS
Luke 6:45 - The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
I guess that's all for now .. better get back to work.. Maybe I can write more at the end of the day.
