The Trials, Victories & Adventures of Los PaulOS

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. ~ 1 John 4:18

HeartCore Resonance: A Prayer

My Heavenly Father,
As I enter this workplace,
I bring Your presence with me.
I speak Your peace, Your grace, Your Mercy
and Your perfect order into this...............
(classroom, college, university, school, bedroom office)
I acknowledge Your power over all that will be spoken,
Thought, decided and done within these walls.
Lord, I thank You for the gifts You have blessed me with.
I commit using them responsibly in Your honour.
Give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job.
Annoint my projects, assignents, ideas and energy;
So that even my smallest accomplishments may bring You glory
Lord, when I am confused,
Guide Me.
When I am weary,
Energize Me.
When I am burned out,
Infuse me with the light of the Holy Spirit.
May the work that I do ,
And the way I do it,
Bring
Faith,
Joy,
And A smile
To all that I come in contact with today
And oh Lord,
When I leave this place,
Give me travelling mercy.
Bless my family
And home to be in order
As i have left it.
Lord, I thank you
For everything
You're doing
And Everything
You're Going to do.
In the name of Jesus I pray with much love and thanksgiving, Amen
*A prayer to start the day with in commitment to the bringing in His presence to the workplace*

Cambodia Revisited!!

It's 305am. I'm here in Edge Kew, the Church Multimedia office/department.
What am I doing here at an unearthly hour? Well, I'm here accompanying my housemate. He just came back from his Cambodia Mission trip and he's performing a video edit of the video shots that he took over there..

oopss.. it's time to go back.. will blog more later :)

6th July .. again here at 315am with my housemate and Nicole and Wei Ching.. they're still editing the video ha ha ha..

Anyways, trying to remember what happened last year.. it was indeed a great trip that opened my eyes to the trials and tribulations of the Khmer ppl. A mission trip changes your perspective on the things that you take for granted and reminds you to be thankful for all that you have.

Among the things I remember are
1. The pastors only get about USD 50 a month to take care of their flock and their own family
2. Some Khmer villagers live in a house/hut much smaller than my room, with nothing much more than a mosquito net shared by 5 family members and they can still smile
3. They still go to church even though it is 5 miles away on dirt road in hot humid Cambodia.

In all of that they still smile and cared for us. I felt very humbled when I was there. Indeed, when we see the hungry and the lost, it gives us a Kindgom perspective, to see that the things of this earth are temporary and fleeting, but the Joy and the presence of the Lord is of utmost importance.

You want a trip to see the Kingdom of Heaven, go on a mission trip, take the comforts out of your life, without a handphone, TV or newspaper and focus on Him and His people, you will be blessed mightily with a glimpse of His presence in the hearts of the ppl you reach out to...

I miss Cambodia, and the people there.. they brought me back to earth when I was somewhat disillusioned then.. Praise be to God.

Congratulations Guy S, you are...

Jeff Ooi of www.jeffooi.com

You are humble, mild-mannered yet wise. Your knowledge is vast as an ocean, but when confronted with an issue you are passionate about you are tough as a mountain. You have an aura of style, quality, excellence surrounding you that cannot be denied. In a way, you are a rebel, but that's because you are always willing to help out your peers by challenging authority without asking much in return. People respect you. You are a natural born leader, people stop to listen when you speak, and follow you wherever you go. You also have a little bird.

A Miracle In My Fridge... NOT!!

*I promise this will be a short blog*

Over the 3 - 5th June weekend, I went off to Lumut, Perak with a couple of my beautiful cell members and 1 Dew Crew member, we drove there early in the morning and had a great time at Damai Laut Resort. (As to what transpired there I'll reserve it for another blog)

So when I came home, I as usual opened my fridge door to get a drink of ice cool water!! It was so refreshing!!

As I continued to inspect the contents of the fridge my eyes strayed to the bottle of Vodka I left to chill in the fridge, because I like my "Screwdrivers" (Vodka and Orange Juice) icy-chilled.
I've had this bottle of vodka since last year June, which I bought (duty-free) on the way back from Cambodia. *erhem*

I had only opened it during my first Roti Jala party... Anyways, back to my eyes that strayed... and the Lo and Behold, what then "almost empty" is now "almost overflowing"... My first thought was "IT'S A MIRACLE".. ..

Then reality struck...
"Uh huh.. yeah Right!"..

So to lay my suspicions to rest, I twisted the bottle cap open, and took a whiff of the contents, it smelled like Vodka.. And my hopes went up again... "Maybe it's a miracle!!"
Well there's only one test to verify it.. "DRINK IT!"

I took a swig of it and to my dismay.. it was bland.. The Vodka had been VOD-TERED (watered) down. Immediately my mind scanned as to who the culprit was.

And, there was no doubt in my mind it was my Sarawakian housemate. I left a "non-accusing" note on a post it and stuck it to the fridge door. Just stating that it was actually vodka still in the bottle.

And she did 'fess up the next morning.

What did I learn?

I learnt .. not to be angry that someone poured water into my vodka, but firstly respond in faith, even though that's not the reality of it.. Look on the bright side of things, like "Praise The Lord, a miracle" but if it doesn't happen, so what ? I still chose to be cheerful and positive about it.

Give thanks in adversity, Give thanks even if people are thankless.
My housemate in the kindness and goodness of her heart meant well, to fill up water for us the rest of the housemates.

God Bless her.... .by the way she's since started joining us at cell group. Hallelujah!

Cheerios!
